We were delighted to welcome Kevin Burch from BBC Look East on Wednesday 21st October 2020 to discuss how the school and students have coped this...
Dear students,
As you are aware, we are responding to the Coronavirus Disease 2021 by moving all of our face-to face classes to an online format.
While this will cause some disruption for you, please be assured that we are committed to making this a smooth transition and the following information and resources are really important in helping you get this done easily and quickly.
Online teaching will use: Microsoft Teams, which is our video conferencing software.
Year 11
From Wednesday 6th January Classes will continue according to the normal timetable at their scheduled time (e.g. Thursday at 10:00 a.m.), however these meetings will be virtual, rather than in a classroom.
In the interest of wellbeing lessons will be shorter to allow a break from the screen.
Teachers will be recording attendance for online sessions, and we will contact your parents if we notice that you are not managing to attend the online lessons.
To prepare for these virtual class sessions: Ensure that you can log onto Microsoft Teams.
Work will be set on Microsoft Teams for the remainder of the Remote Learning period.
You will be sent an invitation to join the class by your teacher at the start of the lesson.
If you are having issues with accessing online learning, please contact the school by email SAA@sybilandrewsacdemy.co.uk in the first instance.
Your question will be directed to the individual in the best position to answer the query.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this period of time. We cannot stress enough the importance of engaging in this learning during this period. We must continue to fill gaps in your knowledge and understanding after the first lockdown and also acknowledge that engaging in learning will give you a structure to your days and weeks.
We know it will not be straightforward but as ever we will do whatever we can to support you. We will be in touch later this week with more detailed information on how to access and use Microsoft Teams for your remote learning. Stay safe and well.
