In RPE over the Term, we have been looking at religion, beliefs, ideas from different philosophers and how different people may respond to different ethical situations. You are going to complete an investigation into how Siddhartha Gautama became the Buddha and started Buddhism.

  1. Read the story of how Siddhartha Gautama started Buddhism (this is one of the documents on GO that you will need).
  2. Then, create a news article for a news paper that retells the story of how Siddhartha Gautama became the Buddha and started Buddhism. You need to write about his life as a Prince, his escape and how he became the Buddha. You also need to create a headline for the news article.

  2. Then, you need to write a short article for a newspaper with the headline of: Is Britain becoming a non-religious country? Use the information you have just summarised to help you. Include a ‘yes’ explaination, a ‘no’ explanation and you also need to provide a conclusion.
